Classified Christmas Mission is the fourth book in Lynette Eason’s Love Inspired Suspense series, Wrangler’s Corner.

Each story in the series revolves around a Starke sibling. This time, it’s Amber Starke, the only girl among the five children and a CIA operative trying to escape a murderous terrorist bent on killing his own young son. While protecting the boy, Amber must decide who she can trust and who she’ll put in danger through her association with them.

‘I’ve got backup on the way,’ Lance said. ‘Let’s get you two out of the car and into mine. I’ve got the heater running.’

She snapped her head up. ‘Cancel that backup. We’re fine and don’t need help.’

[…]

‘I can’t do that. Someone shot at you. There will be an investigation.’

She shoved out of the vehicle. ‘There can’t be an investigation because no one can know I’m here, you understand? This never happened.’

Amber’s response is rather spook-like, don’t you think?

I was sold on reading this book the minute I learned the hero was Lance Goode, whose tragedy is told in the first book, The Lawman Returns. That was my only other read in the series (so far), but for me, Classified Christmas Mission surpassed that one. This current release begins with jaw-jarring action and the presence of a brilliant, but autistic, boy. There’s plenty of danger in the Tennessee snow for any Lynette Eason fan and Lance’s past provides plenty of reason to find him sympathetic.

Fast-paced, gut-clenching, and love among old friends. What more can you ask of a romantic suspense?

It’s that all-things-Christmas time of year. What is your favorite Christmastime book that’s been made into a movie?
